Chapter 4
A dangerous game
Zarina Rosiello
to Amon Nagi
Amon,
I'm so sorry to hear that! I'm glad you're okay. While you've been in the hospital, I have received news that I think might help us. I got a letter from "Delilah"—I'm guessing Delilah Horvat, who tells me her grandfather asked her to bury a wooden box near where I live and to follow me around (!!). Apparently, he plans to curse me like they've cursed others in my family, using the box. Apparently, he's the one responsible for your attack as well.
I've included pictures of the letters Delilah sent. Let me know if you can make anything of them! I feel like we need to find that box.
Best,
Zarina

Zarina,
I am doing a bit better now, thank you. From the letter, this Delilah person seems genuine, but I wonder if she can be trusted. If so, there are serious implications for your well-being. I would love to speak to this woman about the curse and her family.

Amon,
Yes, I was wondering the same thing. I'm not sure if she's trustworthy, but I do think we should still investigate based on what she told us. I'd love to be able to speak to this woman as well, but she didn't leave any contact information...
I'll let you know if I learn anything else.
Best,
Zarina

Delilah Seems Nice Enough
Amon Nagi
to Zarina Rosiello
Zarina,
I am slowly recovering. It helps to have good friends in Zurich. And pain killers. Mostly the drugs. I called and talked to Delilah and, after what seemed like a few hours of apologies from her, she caught me up on everything. The authorities have a lead on my attackers as well. There were witnesses that saw what happened and called the police. I was wondering how they knew to fish me out of the river. I have a few broken bones and lots of bruising but the doctors say I should recover just fine.
Upon talking to Delilah, I think this Gregor of the Horvat family sounds absolutely certifiable. I believe Delilah is okay though. After considering her story and the connection you found on the animal attacks, I am convinced there is some truth to her stories. She disagrees. I may have a scientific mind but I am comfortable saying that I do not know everything about this world. Delilah told me she was going to talk to family members she trusts in order to find a way to break the curse. For your sake, I hope she finds something useful. For her sake, I hope she has family members she can actually trust. It is better for you to err on the side of caution. I do not think becoming a werewolf is one of your life goals. Delilah is planning on giving you a call after she finds something useful.
Do you think Delilah’s grandfather Gregor is the same Gregor who lost his mother Vera in CT? I wonder.
Stay safe.

Hey Zarina it's Dee
Delilah Horvat
to Zarina Rosiello
Sorry I missed your call, my phone is spotty here. It’s about dead now anyway. You can call me Delilah or Dee - please just not Lilah. Amon called me, I gave him everything. He told me your email. I’m calling family to help. My teta always liked me. I’ll call you when I find something. Keep this between us - some of the family is really crazy. Again, so so so so sorry about the mess, I’m going to make it right.
Dee-lightfully Yours,
Delilah!

Amon,
I was thinking the same thing! Given what Delilah said in her letter, I think it's fair to assume that Vera was Gregor's mother and that she was killed by a werewolf. Do you think she was the one who turned Meghan Rosiello into a werewolf (who then presumably killed her)? Hmm.
Let me know if you hear anything else useful. Delilah emailed me this morning, but I still haven't heard any substantial news from her.
I'm glad you're recovering well, and thanks for your help on all this.
Best,
Zarina
